Suture, 4/0, 27", PDS™ Plus, Clear Monofilament, FS-2 is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture made from polydioxanone and coated with the antibacterial agent triclosan (Irgacare® MP). It is designed to inhibit bacterial colonization on the suture surface, helping reduce the risk of surgical site infections.

This suture provides long-term tensile strength, retaining approximately 80% strength at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, and 60% at 6 weeks post-implantation. It is fully absorbed through hydrolysis between 183 and 238 days. The extended absorption profile makes it suitable for use in tissues that require prolonged support during healing.

The FS-2 precision reverse cutting needle is commonly used for skin closure and subcuticular approximations. With a 27" suture length and 4/0 sizing, this PDS™ Plus suture is appropriate for delicate procedures in general, plastic, and dermatologic surgery where fine control and extended wound support are necessary.
